Car Guy of Maplewood opened its doors in March 2004. Jim Huberty, owner and the one true "Car Guy" had nineteen years of automotive repair experience before opening his own shop. After checking out locations from Richfield to North St. Paul; Jim settled into the current location at 2525 White Bear Avenue in Maplewood. It's been a lucrative location; as well as easy for customers to find!
Jim prides himself on doing everything; from a simple oil change to pulling out and replacing an engine overhaul. Jim's specialty as an ASE master certified mechanic is in "drivability" which basically means - he can figure out why your car won't start.
From ASE website: A mechanic certified in all of the first 8 categories of automobile and light truck repair is a master automobile mechanic. Jim holds a current Master certification.
Jim's son Lee graduates with a degree in Auto Repair this year and will then work at the shop full-time.
